Transferring from swimming lessons to competitive racing in a swim club can be a huge step for children and their families. That is why Racing Club has the Swim Academy. Here, children learn the primary aspects of the different swim strokes, including the starts and turns. The emphasis lies on mastering technique and having fun, not on competing or winning. Please email us, if you want to find out more: info@racingclub.nl

Competitive Swimming

If a child has successfully completed his/her technique training in the Swim Academy, there will be the option to move to the Racing Club competition team. Racing Club offers possibilities for swimmers of every level to work with enthusiastic and innovating coaches. Long term as well short term goals will be set together with every swimmer to ensure ongoing personal motivation and growth. Please contact us: info@racingclub.nl

Long-Term Athlete Development

Racing Club applies the Canadian-developed LTAD plan to all its swim trainings, because it encompasses all the aspects of a sporter´s long-term development, including coaching, training, competitive skills and performance.

Minioren swimmers up to 11 years are primarily trained in technical aspects. When they reach the age of 12, they can enter the ‘road to the top’ based on a healthy balance between their commitment to the sport and their duties at school and at home. Junioren swimmers aged 12 to 14/16, specifically train their aerobe system, but also start to build up their anaerobe abilities. Coaches use individual goal cards to monitor the growth of every swimmer (ratio 1:8).

At the ages of 17-18 (for men) and 15-16 (for women), Racing Club swimmers start to specialize in a specific stroke and distance. The aerobe and anaerobe systems are improved and the technical abilities perfected. At this stage, the swimmer receives even more personal coaching than before (ratio 1:6).

Senior swimmers (men 18+ and women 16+) work with an entirely individual programme adjusted entirely to the swimmer’s needs.

Sport monitoring and medical support is integrated in all levels of swim training at Racing Club.

The training at Racing Club is in Dutch and English. For more information, please contact: info@racingclub.nl
